Every couple of months a group of plant enthusiasts gets out and about in Hawke’s Bay’s special plants to look at and learn about native plants. All are welcome.

Recent trips have been:

  • June 2025 Te Mata Park to learn about ferns with Te Papa’s Leon Perrie and Lara Shepherd
  • April 2025 Otaia/Tukituki Scenic Reserve at Waipukurau
  • October 2024 Swamp Track, Ruahine Range
  • August 2024 Pakuratahi Bush, a PanPac owned QEII covenanted bush block north of Napier
  • February 2024 Puahanui Bush, Gwavas

About Marie Taylor

Marie Taylor is the founder of Plant Hawke’s Bay. With a background in horticultural science and rural journalism, she has been recognised for her contributions to landscape revegetation and habitat protection, including receiving a Queen’s Service Medal and winning the Supreme Award at the 2018 NZI Rural Women NZ Business Awards.
